Ed'wari's attention snapped to Suzume quickly, his eyes fixing on hers in an instant, as he was drawn from his thoughts back to their conversation. For a moment, his face was stern and wore a hard expression, before it softened in an instant.
With a smile, he leaned forward and moved his cup slightly closer. "Yes, my apologies. I was lost in thought."
It was a true statement. The Aeldarri were prone to such lapses especially with age. Ed'wari himself had lost months, perhaps years, to dedicated meditation on deep thinking. Such was a gift and curse of age.
"Did you ask something?" he said, relaxing back into the conversation.
