Conversely, James had always been a man of few words. He tended to work alone, and found it tiresome to have to explain his every thought or action to someone else. Teamwork clearly wasn't his strong point. It just lead to more collateral damage.
"Possibly. It wouldn't surprise me," he responded, giving her a slight nod. "I think he's got some serious pain coming his way. Just don't get yourself bloody killed," he told her, perhaps a little more patronising than was necessary.
She was interesting. He'd never met a woman quite like her, and he had met a lot of women- it was just that they tended to either be the enemy disguised as a seductress, disposable pleasures, or weak-willed damsels in distress who dropped dead like flies around him. This woman? Very different indeed.
"Hmm. You're rather feisty, aren't you?" he pointed out, with a bit of a smirk. "But why decide on one or the other, when you can have both. More a question of which first."
