"He is Miguel. We get along perfectly well," Lyla replied, flipping her orientation on the screen so that she was no longer at an odd angle and Maria could easily see her. It made no difference to her that the two versions of Miguel had vastly different sleep schedules or eating routines or that they concentrated on different things to do during the time they were awake. Lyla had a series of checks she did to identify if a person was who they said they were, and both Miguels were within her parameters for "Miguel O'Hara", therefore, they were both Miguel and she would react accordingly. "He has purchased a number of projectors for me, including one that will be incorporated into this watch so I will be able to manifest again very shortly."
When Miguel realized what was happening, he slipped the watch off of his wrist and moved it forward over his knuckles so that he could hold the watch at an angle where Maria could still see Lyla, and Lyla wasn't covered up by his sleeve. And then he continued to drink his coffee and eat little bits of the amazing cinnamon roll, and slowly he began to relax a little. Not entirely, he could never do that in such an open place, but... more than usual. It was quiet. He wasn't expected to do something or fix something right there and then. Nobody was trying to hurt him. It was nice.
