A smile spread over Katherine's face as she thought her uncle approaching. He was one of her most favourite people, a haven of happiness and stability. The smile quickly vanished when she noticed that it wasn't her uncle. It was the man her kids had started calling 'Cowboy Thor'. She felt the tension invade her body. She did not even know why. She hardly liked it but there was not much she could do. Too much fighting, too much fear and so much helplessness.
"Yes, that's my name," he said. The tension ripping her of her usual friendly tone. "I'm busy, learning. Doing what I can." She was defeated about it. She would never be able to catch up with her training quickly enough. She had trained every day for the last five years but there were people here with decades, centuries and millennia of experience. If they did not stand a chance, how could she?
