The violet energy severed each cord with ease, causing the remaining tether in the beach and heading to each soul to decay rapidly and float away like ash. A hushed and exhaled breath rumbled over the beach as one. An exhale that every human knows either through instinct or experience. The final breath, the last exhale. The death rattle.
In unison, each body began to rise slightly, hanging around on the beach for a brief moment in reality. Each of them turned to face Rhysand and Loki, faces filled with a sense of freedom, relief and confusion.
Loki and Rhysand would begin to feel their presences fading, leaving this prison for souls within a soul, a beach in between worlds. No longer stranded, no longer trapped...
