Rhysand's hand left Katherine's shoulder where it had rested while they arrived. A violet shimmer spread outward before becoming invisible, a protective barrier forming throughout the area to ward off any intrusion. As Kat then knelt beside Richie, Rhysand took off a few paces ahead to stoop near the blade sheathed in the floor. Fuck. He thought to himself as his long fingers wrapped around the hilt, using it like a focus to help guide his mind and chase after Higgs. They were too far apart for him to find, his concentration broken as Katherine's quaking voice pierced his ears.
Rhysand then spun around to look back at the pair, making his way to Richie's other side in only a few strides. "There's nothing to apologize for, son. You did your best." His tone was soft in spite of the rage causing his blood to boil.
