Bryn and Edward
Oh, how those words melted her. How she'd been so afraid to say them to Jacob, until he'd said them to her first. And now less so with Edward because Jacob had been so open. Now her heart felt full enough she thought it might burst and she would feel no pain.
Her fingers came up to trace along his jaw. "Those are words not often easily said. Or in my experience they haven't been. Not with the same meaning as they do for you, or Jacob. I've only said them, and meant them to four people in my entire life, including you and Jacob. I was pressured to say them, and did not mean them with one." Or it hadn't felt the way she did now, with them. Or with John.
Bryn lay her head against his shoulder again. She felt safe. As if the whole station could come crashing down, and somehow her two assassins would make sure they were safe.
