"It's not silly." Eddie said with a small smile. "I've been known to play the what if game too. I know you're gong to hear a few ridiculous ones, when younger me comes back." All the worries that carried as a child, a teen, an adult, always thinking of bad scenarios and not just about medical and safety concerns. What if Sonia, his first mom, showed up? Or Richie or Bill's parents? As he got older, he worried more about being sent back,forgetting Richie and dying just when he remembered him. Or worse, sent to a reality where Richie, or any of the other losers, was killed instead of him. There were good what ifs too, what if the other losers showed up, what if he and Richie grew to a ridiculously old age together, etc.
