Brynhild Ingouf ([info]brynhild_ingouf) wrote in [info]spinningcompass,
Bryn/Jacob
With a turn of the knob she pressed only one side open, knowing that both would be more impressive, but also noisy. The bed took up most of the space. And while the mattress was modern, the furs that covered it kept it from looking that way. The posts were as wide as the span of her arms, if she were to wrap them around one. Limbs wove between one another to cover the space between each one, higher for the headboard than the foot. Two night tables, which were drawers and cabinet fronts carved into simply hewn tree middles. There was a large armoire that was much like the two tables, though it did have a flat middle, and took up one wall. A cozy chair was off to one side, that was a little out of place, with deep cushions and leather.

And in the middle of the bed, surrounded with pillows, was the reason they had to be quiet. An infant, that wasn't even a month old, lay there slumbering. And Bryn crept over to the bed. Almost as if the wooden floorboards beneath their feet would make a sound. "This may look like your ordinary human baby. But looks would deceive. His mother is a ghost, and his father is human. This here, is a miracle."
