Blank stirred softly in his sleep, softly groaning as he dreamed vividly. He dreamed of the future.
He was in a park, sitting on a bench. He could feel the cool autumn wind pushed against him. His eyes were towards a play area, where he watched Scarlet and a toddler Reeve playing together. She was pushing him on a swing, both of them laughing. With a smile on his face he watched his family play gleefully.
But, in less than an instant the sky was covered in dark clouds. Those clouds brought a storm unlike anything he had ever seen. The thunder was deafening, the lightning was purple, vicious and frequent. As it raged, Blank stood up from the bench and ran toward his ran family. With each step, they went farther and farther away, all the while the area around him darkened more.
"Scarlet?! Reeve?!" He called out to them, insurmountable panic coursing through his voice. Only Scarlet turned her head to him, her face that was once the most beautiful thing he had ever laid eyes on was distorted beyond anything he could recognize.
In that instance, Blank's eyes opened, accompanied with a small gasp for air. A cold sweat clung to his skin. Slowly, he sat up, trying to get his bearings. It took a few seconds, but he finally realized where he was, especially after hearing Reeve's laughter in the next room. The mage turned his head towards the sound, and a small smile came to his face.
