Lookout group - The halls inside Nergals lair.
The smell was disgusting. That was the first thought that hit Kat's mind. It was overwhelmingly disgusting. And suddenly it was phasing out. The young woman first glanced at her cousin - who seemed to have had a similar experience - and then at her father. 'You are welcome', he mouthed. Katherine did not quite know what he had done but she hardly found herself caring.
Blank seemed in his element. Katherine still felt out of depth. She had only ever experienced a few fights and right now, she was not quite sure she ever would get used to this.
"Some of these were human once," Suzume whispered next to her. Kat glanced at her and saw that she was staring ahead into the crowd.
"I don't think we can do anything for them." Katherine said a little louder so that more than just Zu could hear it. "Dad?" she asked. Her father was her multitool. She relied on him a little too much at times. But he made it far too easy.
"You are not going to save Hell today," Loki explained calmly. He did not seem as stressed as Katherine felt. Not even close. "I am here so you can gain some experience. Please... or will you let the poor mortal do everything by himself?"
Katherine could not say she liked it. There were people who were tortured. People, while hardly perfect, might have loved their children dearly and cared for their elderly parents. It was easy to stray and lose your soul in a cruel world. But they could not have empathy for everyone.
"I'll give you cover. You recruit." There was a stubborn glance in Suzume's eyes and Katherine could feel the air prickle with electricity. She nodded and readied the sceptre in her hand. Zu gripped Mjolnir tightly and a second later lightning bolts hit the demons and souls that had gained their attention. They needed to be loud and they needed to be loud quickly. Everyone who would focus on them, would not focus on Zatanna and her crew.
