Who: Zatanna, Shannon & Loki
Where: Hell - starting at the portal room
What: Hell - no more words needed
When: Sunday afternoon
Rating: High for violence probably?
Open: Maybe to people who would be there but ask first
Status: Unfinished

The god had told the two women to meet him at the gate. He himself had already been there. Tethering his own little universe to the new world had been difficult. It had taken him days to create the bridges needed. But it was time spent well. It allowed to him store everything he needed and pull his weaponry and other trinkets out of nowhere. It was a life saving measure. Not that his life needed saving any longer. He had terminated it once more a few moments ago. His already pale skin had gone that extra shade paler. Then he had pulled up the sleeves of his shirt and let his skin and flesh in his arms decay. It was not natural - merely a magical form where his flesh became more and more rotten until his bones showed. Enough to insert the stones. He plugged them from thin air. Time and space went left, power and mind went into his right arm. The first few seconds were pure pain. It took his body a moment to adjust to the immense power of the infinity stones. He winced, then grimaced through the pain. Once his body had adapted, he let his skin grow back over the stones until a slight shimmer was the only giveaway of the foreign objects inside his arms. He pulled his sleeves back up and with a shimmer of green, he changed into his old Asgardian armour. Never the one from Sakaar. Never the one he died in.

All the while the voice in the background kept calling. For him, the temptations and pleas were easy to ignore. The god took what he wanted. What could Hell have to offer him that he didn't already have? And pleas of mercy - he was no hero. Those souls should beg someone else.

Shannon had her own armor. Armor that would change when she did. Armor that would protect weak points of a body that was far from weak. Because she would be depending on brute strength over commanding any flame. Because what use was fire in hell?

Though standing there, just beside Loki, she couldn't help but suck in a breath at familiar voices. Her brother. Her parents. And her would be murderers.

Her pale blue gaze moved from one companion to the other. Did they hear what she heard? Or was it just playing on her insecurities, or things that would simply bother her? She grit her teeth. "Let's get go already." Whatever the case was, it made her skin crawl, and she was already hating the sensation.

"I can appreciate your eagerness to get on with things but hell isn't a place you run into without a plan." While whatever Loki had done to himself was fascinating, Zatanna's attention slipped to the other woman and she made a note of her unease. She could empathize, every trip she'd made to hell had been pretty horrible, the first time had been so jarring that she'd been reluctant to sleep for a whole week on the off chance she might avoid the nightmares. It hadn't helped, the smell that stuck to her skin and hair kept the sights and sounds fresh in her mind far longer than they should have. She would have to offer her a cleansing later, if only so Shannon wouldn't suffer more than she needed to.

Zee had tried to protect herself though she didn't exactly wear armor. Black pants tucked into high boots, a well warded white corset under an even better warded long black coat. She would be safe from most low-level infernal magic. Maybe it wouldn't protect her from Nergal if she was unfortunate enough to run into that demon, but at least she could burn it all after this little excursion and not feel the least bit sorry for it. Hell always ruined her nicer clothes.

"If you want to just go on a killing spree it's best to avoid the more built-up areas," she started, looking to Loki again. "Higher-ranking demons flock to the nicer" she made air quotes at the word as it was hard to call anything nice in hell. "Places. The higher the demons the more lower demons and spirits they command. So if you're wanting to start a full-on war you won't win we can start near the center and work down the streets. I'm happy to guide you as far as I can but I intend to get information on John, so I need you to spare at least one of the bars if we go deeper into hell."

Lady Zatanna was not the only one who noticed the unease in the dragon-descendent. He looked her in the eyes and quirked a smile. It was that fighting spirit he valued so much in her. "Patience, little dragon. Your thirst will be quenched soon..." his voice spoke in her mind.

"Now tell me, is that command a pure hierarchy or are they compelled to follow the the higher higher demons..." Ruling over a demon army had a nice ring to it. The only thing standing in his way were others who could break his influence and spells. "And why would you need to gain information on Mister Constantine?"

So clearly they were not hearing what she was hearing. Shannon closed her eyes and allowed the whispers to seep into her mind so it was possible Loki could hear them through her thoughts. It wasn't only her thirst for vengeance that drove her. It was mostly her unease. Hoping that going through the door would stop the voices.

"It's hard to plan for something that has only been theoretical to me, it's not exactly described in the same way in any of the text." But what sort of planning could be better besides release her largest size and wreak havoc? Surely her size would count alone. "We could start from the center and work our way out?" Sure she could drop them both exactly where they wanted to be.

"Hierarchy," Zee explained. "But one that is always shifting. Before Lucifer left changes in power had to be more subtle so as not to draw his ire, but now that he walks the earth power struggles happen in the open now. I witnessed the last great war here, it isn't something I would wish to see again. Power and position shift all the time down here, the higher demons are not to be underestimated as here it takes a great deal of strength to even hold onto Lucifer's table scraps."

She looked back to Shannon, "We could, I don't recommend really any of this but we could. Hell loves a good showing of hubris, a chance for advancement for all of demonkind, especially if we're unlucky enough to be taken while still alive. They particularly like using magi as slaves," she nodded toward Loki. "So try not to get yourself captured. I can tell you think that wouldn't happen but hell has broken those more powerful and more willful than the both of you."

Her eyes turned to the landscape of hell and she nodded to herself, "John has been here about a week or so with no word. He's likely done something stupid and needs to be rescued."

Loki concentrated on the link with Shannon's mind while listening to Zatanna. He could feel her agitation, could feel the voices that were nagging her. "Stay calm, my love. Those are not real," he whispered into her head. "They try to get you where you are most vulnerable. It is foul play.." The god admired the tricks. You could bring down the most formidable of foes and slay any dragon if you could crawl under their skin.

Then Zatanna made a comment that let his concentration turn back to hers. He didn't like that he his amassed power was judged so easily by someone who had never truly seen him fight. He had always hated being judged so quickly and his daughter's disapproval of such judgements and the conversations they had because of it, had only festered his dislike. "As you know so well what we are capable of, why don't you lay out a battle plan for us. We will give our best to execute it to the degree our humble skills will allow." He smirked a joyless grin.

The god glanced into the same direction as the mage, through the open door and into hell. His desire to let go of the power within the stones was growing steadily. Loki himself wanted to see what he was capable of. The station was no place for it. He would kill them all.

All it took was that pair of words to derail the affect the whispers were having on her. Like that she wasn't thinking straight. She had been content in tearing through hell, regardless of the consequences. Just to make the voices stop.

Shannon closed her eyes and took a centering breath. She nodded once, giving Loki a little smile. Her beast was soothed. And she was pretty sure he was the only one that could do the soothing. Even she couldn't achieve that level of calm when trying to sooth herself.

"Okay. What is the plan?"

Zatanna met his eyes, "I don't question your abilities, they'd have to be considerable to make you think this was anything other than incredibly foolish, but I do wonder if you're taking this as seriously as you should be." Perhaps she wasn't taking it as seriously as she should have, none of her trips to hell had gone as planned. She was fairly certain it was going to go the same way, but as long as she got the information she was looking for it would still be worth it. "The plan..."

She stepped forward and put her hand through the doorway, closing her eyes as she listened to the thrum of the infernal magic that held the place together. "The First of the Fallen, Belial and Beelzebub are in residence. They are unlikely to take an interest unless we interfere with their souls, so we are relatively free to do as we would like with their lieutenants." She turned her head just a little, indicating she was speaking to Loki. "If your aim is simple carnage I would say we pick a street not far from the center, create a chokepoint and let them throw themselves at us until they're broken or one of the princes shows themselves. I am known here, a few might come after me, but I imagine a blatant attack from either of you might get their attention just as well."

The god did not buy what she was saying but he had no intention of asking any further. Instead he focused on her plan. It sounded tame in comparison to what he had had in mind. But he could execute his own plan later. Just before closing time... oh he was looking forward to that.

"I assure you they will know us fairly soon. I assume they have no ability of teleportation or flight then?" It would give them a huge advantage. A means of escape where others could not follow. While he was keen to explore his own abilities and give Shannon a chance to hone hers, he would not risk the dragoness' welfare over it. If they could not teleport, it made it unlikely they could block their escape.

"I believe it's the souls we have interest in. While I'm sure there are more than a few souls that earned their place in Hell, but I'm also sure there are more than a few that haven't. Think bull in a china shop. That's the plan I like. I would like to put a sizable dent in the soul robbing population." Shannon's gaze had returned to the view through the door. And while she knew the voices weren't really people she knew, she resented that she was hearing them. A hot button had been pushed.

Also, she had been looking forward into going some place where she could be unleashed. The last time there had been any of that sort of mischief since the door for Pemberley, and even then she had behaved herself.

"Are we going to stand here and talk about it, or...?"

"Some can, depending on what kind of demons they are, but I have ways to counteract that." She didn't go into detail, magic seemed to be radiating off Loki and he seemed clever enough to put two and two together. She wasn't nearly as interested in killing demons as the last time she'd been trapped in hell, her primary goal was getting everyone back out alive and undamaged, including John, if she could grab him.

But then Shannon spoke and everything inside Zatanna clenched for just a moment. Shit. This was exactly why everyone always said to be careful of meeting someone in person after only speaking online.

"Right," Zee said, mentally preparing herself for the inevitable confrontation with the triumvirate. "I know where we're going then. Expect a fair bit of resistance." And with that she stepped through, the wards and sigils etched into her coat glowing a bright blue for a brief moment before fading away.

Loki chuckled at his lady's reaction. Her temper ran hot. It was no wonder when a beast rested inside of you. But her approach to a fight was vastly different from his own. Nonetheless, he felt a satisfaction when things - Zatanna in particular - started to move. Just like Shannon, he was itching to let go.

"I am truly hoping for some resistance," he said before he kissed Shannon at the root of her hair and stepped through the portal himself.

The stench was the first thing he noticed. It was disgusting. He linked up to his own mind and his lady's after she followed and quenched. The particles were still there, the perception was not. Then he let the place in... he shut his eyes and let the mind wander, mapping every corner and every sign of intelligence within a radius. He gently probed some of the minds farther off. Some let him in, some resisted. But there were enough to take over to cause considerable damage and confusion. The wrapped the knowledge into a snapshot. A touch to Zatanna's forehead and Shannon's transported a map of the wider area, the current positions of their inhabitants and their level of power to their mind. It was a still. No moving parts. He could not link them to the stones. It would tear their mind apart, like it would his if he stated linked with them for longer.

Oh, Shannon returned Loki's sentiments. She wasn't hoping for a cake walk. She stepped through the portal directly after Loki. Her gaze shifting to him. Watching for what a cue. When he touched her forehead, and gave her the information they needed... Well that was sign enough. She stepped forward, out away from the door enough that she would have room.

She drew her head back and let purple and black smoke slide from her lips, as she spread her arms. It only took a moment before she was engulfed, hidden from view as her body changed. And grew. The smoke grew larger as she did.

When she was fully changed, she gave a great flap of her wings to scatter the screening smoke. She held onto the roar that wanted to rip from her throat. The armor she had been wearing grew with her. Stretching along her from her throat to her tail, shielding her underbelly. Everything else was already protected with the silver and white scales that covered the majority of her body. Smoke still curled from her lips. It was because of that that the scent of Hell, didn't seem to bother her one bit.

This was just getting better and better, Zee found herself glad she'd taken the time to put herself into a restorative trance the night before. She was going to need every ounce of her strength before this was over, she could feel it. Maybe she should have been more concerned for Loki given his stated intentions, but seeing Shannon change and what unease she had sensed in her before, she felt more compelled than before to make sure no lasting harm came to her.

Zatanna lifted both hands, palms out toward Shannon, "Ekoms dna srorrim, ekam elbisivni ot dnik-moned elffab lla dnuos gnitaname morf nihtiw." In response, the air around the dragon sparkled a light purple color before it faded. "Don't want to give them time to prepare for you. They won't be able to see or hear you until you're ready to fight, or not at all if you want to inspire a little terror."

She wasn't an angry person by nature, but nearly all demons had it coming.

"A lot of the souls themselves will be in the torture pits, as tempting as it is to free them from there we need to get their soul coins first." She ran a hand over the other, a small section of the map Loki had given them showing up in her palm. "Some of the coins are kept in this building here. Hitting it will be like kicking a hornet's nest but we shouldn't be killed instantly."

There was something familiar about the spoken words. Loki quirked an eyebrow at the other mage. Then the effect took place. He could feel the magic forming in the air. He was impressed. He had had a similar idea - changing Shannon's looks. But there was no need for it any longer. Good. Native magic would be more reliable in any case.

"Excuse my ignorance but I have to inquire: what are these soul coins you are talking about? And how are they handed out?" He glanced up at a demon next to them and let the power of the mind stone unfold. The god slipped into the demon's mind and compelled him to come closer. He looked like a pitiful man, reaching only a meter and a half in height. One of the lower demons around. Nonetheless, the man reached into his pockets and produced a coin which he handed to the god a moment later. "I am glad to be of service, my Lord." Loki turned it around in his hand. Daria Westwood stood written on the plain looking coin.

"This is what we are after?" he asked Zatanna.

Shannon liked the idea of inciting terror, her tail gave a little wag at the idea. Not too much, not wanting to give herself away before she'd had a little fun. If one knew the look of her snout they would be able to tell there was a little up turn of her mouth.

"I could see if I could go bigger, offer a distraction for you and Loki to go in. How used to earthquakes are they?" Her voice was deep, and rumbled within her belly, far from what she sounded like as a human. She didn't know what she would have to do to become seen and heard, but if she tried to grow to the size of the fabled Smaug and shake the building in question, surely its guards would have to come out and leave the path clear.

"Not very," Zatanna answered. "But it would be dangerous for you if you revealed yourself, we would have to be quick. No time to concern ourselves with who is and isn't deserving of a second chance or whatever it is you want to do with the souls." She had hoped their intentions were somewhat noble but she really hadn't questioned them any more deeply than surface level.

She nodded as Loki looked over the coin. "That is a human soul. They're essentially currency down here, and of course the more coins the more powerful the demon. In most cases, fresh souls are brought in by the actions or manipulations of demons on Earth, some people sell their own," others were like Constantine and fucked up badly enough that they got their own souls claimed. Maybe she really would kill him this time. "But once they're down here the coins are spent or traded all the same. A few get consumed by demons, some pass between thousands of demonic hands, others end up in that bank."

Loki listened to the explanation. His mind ventured from plan to plan. He could destroy a single building and all the demons in it easily enough. But how much power he would have left afterwards was questionable. He had collapsed after the battle with Bill's monster. A few hours of permanently drawing on the stones inside his arms weakened him. His state back then had been weaker than it was now. But he would need to leave some of his strength to guarantee a rescue if they needed it. If they were on a longer venture, it was best to leave whatever task the others could do to them.

He glanced up at Shannon with an amused glance. Patience had never been her friend. The beast in her was certainly stirring. "Before we go and try to rescue these poor damned people as we are all very keen on doing,-" Oh, he knew he was laying it on thick. "- I have a few questions. What power do these coins have? Now that I possess this - what can I do with Ms Westwood's soul?" he asked curiously while turning over the coin with his fingers.

While this was all exciting, and she was Jonesing to just go and wreak as much havoc as she possibly could... This stranger was clearly worried about someone she had just met. And while she was a little intrigued by Loki's questions, she knew Zatanna was here for a reason. And that reason did help fight on their grandsons' behalf.

"What do you need from us, to find out about Constantine? Loki... Bill." It was just a rumbled reminder to her beloved. A reminder that they owed the mage. They could have fun after. They could test ground after. "And don't worry about me. My scales on top are harder than Asgardian metals, and that is what is protecting my stomach. " Simply because of what had happened to her while they had been fighting for Bill. "The only damage that might happen is to my wings. And that is a price I'm willing to pay."

"The soul belongs to you, it gives you power over the soul and it gives you a footing in the hierarchy of hell as long as you have it." She didn't want to explain that he could do anything he wished with it, even take over the soul's torture, mostly because she wasn't entirely sure he wouldn't go do just that. Though that was more because she didn't know him well enough, not that he had shown any desire to do anything other than kill demons.

Zee sighed, "There is somewhere I need to go, if I remember right it's not far from that bank. A bar, they know John there," they knew her there too, and the soul of her father but her father had moved on and she hoped to use their knowledge of her to get what she wanted from the demon regulars. "If he's been seen by anyone they'll know about it. I can't say I need you to come with me, I can handle an interrogation and a bar full of demons on my own, but if you don't mind using your fun as a distraction I can slip away to do what is needed."

Loki did not like that. This was why he had always held back to making connection. John was an entertaining man to be sure. He was hardly a good man which made him far better company. But he was not someone he would risk his life and sanity over. When it came down to it, Loki hated owing people. Sadly, Shannon was not wrong. He cared for the boy his daughter had brought into his life and John had indeed helped him.

"Distraction has been my forte since the day I could talk," he concluded. Mostly by being a general nuisance. "Care to play the gallant hero and free those poor tormented souls?" he asked Shannon, then turned to the young mage. His voice was deadpan. So was his expression. "Heroism has always flown through our blood."

Shannon's mind went elsewhere when Loki said that distraction was his forte. A low purr rumbled in her throat. Her lids half lowered as she looked down at her God. But they couldn't distract in that sort of way, that would leave them both too vulnerable. And it being Hell that wouldn't be that much of a distraction, she imagined.

She gave a little huff of a chuckle. "Well, I am a Rogers." It was distant relation. She squatted her legs just a little, and lowered her wings, should the two like a 'ride' to the intended point of interest. While science said that she shouldn't be able to fly, and shouldn't be able to carry passengers, reality didn't jive with that. She knew she could carry them both without trouble.

"That's a comfort to hear." She said, willing to give Loki the benefit of the doubt. He didn't seem nearly as bloodthirsty as he had when he asked about killing demons. Maybe it was Shannon, maybe it was simply realizing that he would need a plan that was better than 'run in and kill everything'. It could have even been Zee's anxiety over the whole thing starting to fade just a little. It was hard to tell.

The way Shannon moved was unmistakable and Zee felt her eyebrows going up. She had intended to fly under her own power but it might be better to catch a lift on the dragon. It would hide her at least and keep some of her energy in reserve. "Something new every day." She said mostly to herself before taking a spot on Shannon's back that wouldn't hinder her flight or other movements.

Loki chuckled at Shannon's comment while he climbed onto her back. He took a seat behind the mage and held onto the spines on her back. The god could have changed form himself but he enjoyed the ride on his the powerful winged creature. Shannon's true dragon form was much more intriguing than his own fake one. He could not rival her raw power.

It would also allow him to observe the word underneath and cause a few distractions on the way. But that left one question. "Now, which demon might be the most likely to cause a revolt around here?" There was edge of mischievousness to his words.

With just a few great flaps of her wings she lifted up off the ground. And a few more and she carried them up over the buildings. She let her eyes adjust to the image that Loki had shown them, before she started moving. Let the two of them plan, while she could do well on her own, it seemed that the Mage and the god knew more about what needed to be done than she did. Shannon trusted Loki, and would follow his lead, no matter what she wanted to do.

When she reached the spot they had talked about, she circled over the buildings. "Let me know when you want to go down."

"Wotan." The name came to her lips before she could stop it. "Anything having to do with him will get the other demons riled up. He stole my father's soul and brought it to hell, tried to take over my body limb by limb, if you want to gut the bastard be my guest."

Not that she was bitter or anything.

The god enjoyed the feeling of the massive creature moving through the air. It was raw power. Loki liked power.

He had listened to Zatanna's explanation and a smirk formed on his lips. "Let's make him hated then..." This was what he was born to do. When Loki needed a distraction, he only rarely used himself. Someone needed to take the fall for this and why not blame it on a demon? Zatanna hated them and her hatred only urged him on. He let the power of the mind stone wander. It tore at his body but right now he did not care. Magic latched onto groups of demons. Some only a handful in size, some a few dozen. He would make them rally and he enjoyed it far too much.

A group not too far away was the first one jumping into action. "For Wotan!" was the scream that echoed through their mouths before the brawl began. Other groups in neighbouring streets quickly joined and Loki let spread. "Let's find a spot to land. You should be and to isolate a demon among the chaos and we should be able to overwhelm a bank." He had no doubt in that.

Shannon easily circled over the bank and surrounding buildings. Only flapping he wings every so often to keep them aloft. A soft rumbled chuckle parted her maw as the sound of chaos starting reached her ears.

Then a question came to her. "Are there other dragons in hell??" She hadn't thought to ask. Was she the only one? Would that be enough to cause a spectacle among the already chaotic crowd?

"Not that I ever saw." She answered. There were big monsters sure, most of them the creations of demons or demons themselves altering their forms but true or approximated dragons? Not that she knew of. It was almost unfortunate, if they were more common then Shannon could have gotten around more easily, but there was something to be said for her suddenly appearing and terrifying everyone.

"I know exactly who to talk to." Zee said. "Thank you for the lift. You two can get started without me, I'll be along in a minute as this shouldn't take long." And with that she shifted, pulling her leg back over and slipped off Shannon's back, floating in the air a moment before she let herself fly slowly toward the ground, eventually landing just in front of the bar she had mentioned as the demons rushing through the streets completely ignored her.

Loki watched the mage jump off the back of the dragon. He took a note which building exactly she was headed towards before refocusing on where they were heading. The bank was close by. A grin appeared on his face when they started to descent.

When Shannon touched down, she spread her wings. And dropped the spell that was keeping her hidden. When she did she opened her jaws and the loudest rawr that she could manage ripped from her throat. How was that for a distraction?

Loki's grin did not falter as he jumped off the back of the dragon. If his heart would still be beating, it would be racing right now. Excitement was rushing over him. He embraced the pain when he called on the stones to get a detailed layout of the bank ahead of him and the people occupying it. There was a back entrance. Loki split himself into two. Not him and an illusion. The pain it caused made him shudder. It rippled up his arm and caused it to rot is flesh ever so slightly.

His second self slipped away through the already stirring crowd. No one noticed the meagre figure, not when there was a creature of fire and death hovering in front of them. "I will follow your lead, my love," he whispered into Shannon's mind and started to let the power gem fester his body.

Shannon smiled down to her God lover, and flashed, what might be seen as a threat to some, it was as mischievous a grin as she could manage. "I was thinking a little fire. Does that sound like fun?" Her brow wiggled just a little.

That was the only warning she gave, before she lowered her long neck and showered those at ground level with the fires that poured out of the pit of her stomach.

Loki watched with a sense of satisfaction as flames spread out in front of them. It was a magnificent sight. It was a demonstration of raw power. He wasn't sure how vulnerable demons were to fire but instead of concentrating on the figures hit by the fire, he focused on the stones in the arms and drew on their power. It strengthened his body and quickened his speed. He got ready to support his lover.

Roars started erupting from around them and Loki turned around to Shannon's back where demons started crowding. Fearful demons. Angry demons. Loki smirked. "I would think twice if I were you," he told the demons with a relaxed demeanour.

It was satisfying to watch the demons that had been in the line of 'fire' burn and shriek. Even if the noise was ungodly. A low rumbled chuckle sounded in her belly, when the roars caught her attention. Well, she could do that too.

Shannon took a deep breath and let out a shrieking roar of her own. She picked up a rushing demon, intent on just eating him, but he tasted disgusting. So rather than tossing him back, and swallowing she bit down and flung her head as hard as she could, before she let go. Tossing the demon into the side of a random building a good distance away. Her tongue snaking out of her mouth in protest to the taste. "Yuck."

Loki chuckled at his lovers' antics. He could not blame her. Even in his undead form, he would not sink his teeth into any of these creatures. They smelled - even though he could not smell it any longer - and their hygiene was, well, abyssal.

Before he could answer, he attacked the demons coming from the rear. His speed matched that of Brynhild. He had never fully tried it out in a fight. It was fun. Within moments he had sent down a handful of demons one level deeper into hell. He returned to his previous position.

"You should at least sprinkle some salt and pepper on it," the god grinned through his teeth.

"I don't think ten cloves of garlic would even help that taste." She offered with another chuckle. "Hold on to something." She warned. Though he was heavier than most things. She gave two heavy pumps of her wings, not to lift her body off of the ground but to cause down gust of air to knock a lot of the rushing demons off their feet.

Shannon was enjoying herself. It wasn't often that she got to go full out mad dragon. She only hoped that it gave enough distraction that Zatanna would be able to get the information she needed.

Loki smirked and anchored himself with the space gem. He grounded himself to where he was standing and looked up at her. He marvelled at the sight of the great magnificent dragon. Only that he marvelled at it a little too long. While his eyes were set on the white scales and giant wings that spanning over him, a demon had appeared out of nowhere. It was a quick one. He could feel the blade going through his belly before he noticed the demon. It was a sharp pain.

The god's head snapped around. Shock ran through his body as he noticed his mistake. The demon did not last very long. He unleashed the power of the mind gem onto his attacker and melted his brain. When the demon collapsed, his sword was still stick in the god of mischief.

Shannon folded her wings back against her body, before she glanced back to make sure Loki was still there. She hadn't blown him away. When she saw the sword through his belly, and the slumped, dead, demon. She turned her whole body around, she could careless of what her tail whacked into, who it mowed into, if they weren't her beloved, they could be flattened.

She dropped her head down low next to him. "Are you alright?" She knew he could go through a lot, but being run through with a hell blade? Who knew until it happened.

It took a moment for the pain to settle in. It was sharp and throbbing, even through his dead body. He pulled the blade out of his abdomen and let it vanish into his pocket dimension. He would examine it later.

"I'm fine." The automatic answer escaped his lips. He could be squished to the ground and still say that sentence. He focused on healing his body. It was slower than usual but he still healed. A few seconds in, he gave up. He would have to do the rest later on. It robbed him off too much energy right now.

She shifted her head so that she was eye to eye with him. She knew his pride level. "Get on. I can take us up and give you a minute without being attacked. It'll still be a diversion." And it didn't risk him getting injured farther than he was already.

Perhaps she was being over protective. But Shannon couldn't risk losing him. Not if they had an alternative. Expression was hard in this form, but her eyes pleaded with him, to take up the backup plan. Her wings thrust out to either side of her. Her tail whipped around behind. Keeping the demons off as best she could without fire.

His pride level was definitely higher than most people's. He already had an 'I am fine' on his lips before Shannon had finished speaking. He hated a display of weakness - especially by himself. His side, however, still hurt. For a second he checked in with his other self. His split off version had made it to the vault and started pocketing the coins.

"We only need a few more minutes. Can you provide that?" There was a strain to his voice, half pain, half wounded pride. Still after all of this time surrounded by family, he had yet to shake off the feeling that he had only himself to rely on.

"I can. What do you want to do?" What did he want her to do? More of what she was doing already? Fly about and cause more havok? Crash through one of the buildings they didn't need at that moment? She was all for suggestions.

While she waited she kept the field clear. If any demons came at them from the front she broke her gaze for the moment it took for her to snatch them up and fling them elsewhere. She had the feeling they were dim creatures, other wise they would learn to stay from the mouth of a dragon.

Loki winced as a wrong move let the pain light up again. "Take that side and let's show them that they should not come too close," the god said and pointed to Shannon's front. He stepped to the edge of the dragon's shadow. A purple glow built up in his arm. The energy he channelled was overwhelming. A buzz that went right through his body. The power vibrated within him. Decay spread out from where the power gem rested. It would all be worth it.

There was a mad gleam in his eyes when he let go. A cone of raw energy went out in front of him, knocking over the oncoming demons and shattering the buildings around them. A few were awfully resilient and managed to get up. An act many Asgardians had not managed when their fleet had been conquered by Thanos.

Without hesitation, Shannon lowered her head and let fire pour from her gullet, in the direction he pointed her at. She kept her wings and tail moving. She took his protection seriously.

When it dissolved to smoke. Shannon took a deep breath and gave a ground quaking roar, to give her body time enough to rebuild the flame. It followed with another.
