"Yeah." Richie told him, leaning into Eddie's shoulder. He still didn't really like thinking about that day, but it was worth it if the carving made Eddie feel good. He looked over with a soft smile, "Me too. Even more than I thought about your mom." he grinned, bumping Eddie's shoulder with his own playfully.
It might have been his go-to but it usually made Eddie smile, as much as he didn't want to, and it broke the seriousness of the conversation. He didn't want to think about the clown or what had led him to the bridge in the first place. But he was glad Eddie knew.
"I got you something." he said suddenly, leaning down to his previously discarded backpack. It was a little wet from the snow but he ignored it, pulling out a sloppily-wrapped gift and handing it to Eddie. There wasn't a card or anything like that, but Richie had written For Edward Spaghedward directly on the paper.
Inside there was a strange blue plush toy, and Richie waited until Eddie had looked it over before grinning wide, "It's a staph infection!"
