Who: Eddie and Richie Where: Starting in the park. What: Valentine's not-a-date date. When: Backdated to Friday Open: no Warnings: Language, possibly feelings of self-doubt based on his mom's homophobia.
Eddie led the way to the park, feeling a little more nervous with each step he took. What if Richie was weirded out by the bench? What if it made him want more than Eddie was ready for? Or worse, what if he thought it didn't mean anything? His gift for Richie was hidden away in Eddie's backpack, but once he showed him the bench - there was no way for him to un-see it. "My mom's name starts with S, not E." Eddie blurted out. "And I don't have any aunts or grandmas with an E name either." Fuck, that must have sounded random.
Eddie stopped in front of the bench. "This is where I was when I got here, you know, when I stopped being an old dude and became the right me." With luck, Richie would not what he meant because he wasn't even sure himself. "I think old me liked this bench, because of.." He trailed off and pointed to the R+E carving.
