Brenna was glad that Dan could spent the time away from the snow. She was also glad that he had company besides her. It meant she did not have to spent all her time in London. The noise was unbearable. She had hardly ever seen such a crowded place. She did not understand how people could tolerate it there. Life in the future was not for her. She missed the sea and endless stretches of countryside. So Brenna ran. She ran barefeet through the snow. They used to do this as a challenge. How quick could you run and how long could you stand the cold? It was a fun little game.

The young Viking was so absorbed into looking at her feet that she did not notice the other person in front of her. Her leather and linen Viking wear had been covered with a thick modern jacket. The blue jacket now dampened her collision with the other person. "Humpf" she said before a string of Nordic curses left her lips. "Ah, I apologise..."
