Bryn climbed up behind him, it served two purposes, and neither were to check out his backside. Unfortunately. She was more worried about his well being. And didn't want to take a chance that he would slip down the rungs because they'd both misjudged his wounds. The second reason came shortly, as they cleared the ladder. With a sharp yank she dislodged it, making it hang, so it would both be hard to follow, and anyone that came looking wouldn't think two people took a dangerous ladder to escape.
She'd spent a lot of time running too. And she knew when she was out of her element, or in over her head. She knew how to cover her tracks, if given the time. And it was hard to know what the men would say to the police, since two were unconscious.
"We've got a minute before we will be able to go to far." She picked up on the sirens, police, and an ambulance, coming from different directions. But she was fairly sure no one had seen them climb up. In a few long strides she closed the gap between them. "Let's have a look." She tilted his head up toward the moonlight, so she could see if his nose was broken or just bloodied.
