There were few responses to his presence which John deemed normal. There was fear and anger. Either the person really didn't want to see him, or John had done something to anger them. Rarely was he greeted with open arms.
Passers by must have wondered what was going on, but then again John didn't care. He knew how to handle anyone that might intrude on their conversation. John knew how to hypnotise in a variety of ways including simple speech, using the power of suggestion and a little magic in each chosen word he highlighted.
"So what do you do to feel normal then?" he asked. He took the cigarette from his lips and blew the smoke out and to the side, using that chance to get a quick look away from her. No one was watching them. That was good.
