Shit. John. She heard the muttered spell, knew she only had moments. What would his reaction be? Seeing her like this? Ready to rip a man to shreds because he'd stolen from her. She forced her arm across the strangers shoulders a little harder, causing him to grunt in pain.
Then her spell was gone. She had to work faster than she had been. She couldn't take her eyes off of the burly man. "He thought he was my type. At least until he stole from me. If I were a lesser vampire he would be lunch dinner and breakfast for months." Bryn spoke of draining him, and leaving his exsanguinated body for the rats.
