Astrid sat at the kitchen table, drinking tea and knitting a new hat for Hródolf. He was freshly bathed, wearing clean nightclothes and was being put back in bed (again) by Dan, who was probably having to tell him yet another bedtime story. This was the third time, and Dan's coffee was getting cold by now. But he didn't seem to mind. As he'd said, Hródolf hadn't seen him for almost a month, and that was a very long time for a little boy who hadn't seen three summers yet.

So Astrid sat there and knitted and waited. She even used the strange wave machine to heat Dan's coffee up for him. She could be patient when she had to be.
