Richie took the extra time to wipe at his face again, then took his glasses off and cleaned them on his shirt, putting them on and then running a hand through his hair. By the time Bill was standing by him again he mostly felt like himself.
He slid off the stool and stepped toward his friend. The offer surprised him a little. They'd spent nights together as kids, all kids did that, but he hadn't really expected it now. But as he thought about it, he realized that he did want company. It didn't have to mean more than that. And it didn't, it was Bill. It was different with them. "Yeah." he said, after his slight hesitation, "Yeah, that sounds good."
