Bill had read his book a few times, trying to work out ways of killing It. And he'd seen both the movies and the older TV movies as well. He knew Eddie would be killed, just like he knew what Stan would do. But as bad as it was to read or watch these things happening on a screen, that was nothing compared to seeing Richie trying not to react to his grief. Sure, all the Losers were best friends, but Richie was his best friend, and seeing tears in his eyes was abruptly terrifying. Feeling his own eyes well up, he blinked hard and nodded at what Richie told him.
He slipped out of his seat and moved round to sit beside Richie after that. "I'm s-s-suh-sorry," he said, and put his hand on Richie's shoulder, ignoring the fact that his own vision had gotten pretty blurry again. "I, I'm g-g-gonna fuh-fix it."
