"We'll just go with cake, then," he agreed, and drank some coffee.

No, I, I used Bryn's credit card and bought what seems to be the entire contents of a liquor store, brought it back here and hid it in my old apartment, and then drank most of it. I gave Bryn what was left of that, when I found it. I think that's the worst thing I did, but I don't remember much of back then," he admitted, and rubbed at the back of his neck. Most of his twenties was lost to him, locked up in the black hole of Drunkenness, and why should his brief trips to space be any different? He only remembered the painful bits.
