Katherine paused shortly in her walk as she read the words carefully. She was used to reading. Bill had occasionally used it, more so, it had been Suzume's sole form of communication when she had first arrived. Two kids whose language could not keep up with their thoughts.
She smiled at him as she handed the book back. "I -" She sighed and handed the book back in case he wanted to write more. She was at a loss for words. "I wish I had magic advice." She snorted. "Look at me, I'm younger than you. You've lived through more than I have. But I think I understand." She brushed her hair back behind her shoulders. "Sometimes where are no words to make things right. This place was your life. It's a life you should have had. It's everything you've left behind when you grew up. None of it happened with your consent. The way we all grow up -" Katherine shook her head. "- it's so weird. You shouldn't suddenly be standing in the middle of your past and your worst nightmare that is." Reflecting on her words, she decided that this sort of counselling was certainly not her strength. But she tried and that counted, didn't it? Sometimes talking was all that you really needed.
