Sophia knew she had an almost full plate with working at Lacy's diner and working up in the Medbay. But she wanted a place to at least put her confections, in case anyone wanted to try them. And she didn't want to clutter up Lacy's. So nights that she woke up in the middle of the night, when she couldn't get back to sleep thanks to vivid nightmares, and with the help of Finn, she had started fixing up a store front. It was already sorted out to work like a bakery, she didn't have to bake things at her apartment unless she really wanted to. Ovens, range tops, display cases that opened from the front and the back sat on counters that were waist high. Right that moment she was putting her touch on the walls. Painting, with music blaring. Her clothes, which consisted of cut off shorts and a white ragged tee, were covered in paint splatters. She was barefoot, her hair tied up in a ponytail. But that didn't save her hair from splatters. Especially considering that she stopped every little bit when there was a song she liked. Some lip syncing happened into the paint roller, and some dancing around. On the upside she hadn't fallen on her ass yet. The Pretender by the Foo Fighters just started. Her face brightened up as she pulled the roller from the wall, and when the drums started she banged her head with the beat. Her lips moved as David Grohl belted the words. |
