He stopped once he could tell he was about to get even more worked up, and rubbed at his lips. The need for a drink was very strong now, but he promised himself that he wouldn't just get up and walk away in search of alcohol. Not yet, anyhow.
"I don't do that. Not any more," he admitted with a brief shake of his head. "And it's almost always been scary."
