Dan had been chain-smoking and drinking coffee for a while now, and had just moved tables so he was also looking out the big window. There was a storm brewing on the planet below, and the swirly surface was lighting up all over the place with hidden lightning strikes. Pretty epic to watch, and excellent for distracting possibly-nervous people from ghosts that were watching them.
He'd known Abra was near before she even walked into the food court, and he half-expected to be unable to look directly at her when she got to his table. She Shone so damn bright, even he could see it.
He lit a new cigarette off his old one while she got her coffee, and stubbed the old one out in his saucer-ashtray as she approached, before getting to his feet as she reached the table. He could see her just fine, and she was beautiful. Wow. "Hi, Abra," he said, smiling as he held his hand out to her. "I guess I'm your Uncle Dan, huh?"
