Jessica had spent most of the last month in Atlanta. She'd gotten one of the rooms Bryn had offered and hadn't been back to the station much. She was enjoying some of the services offered in other parts of Bryn's building but had actually been pretty good about staying sober. She'd wandered down to the bar once, in what she was sure Dan would have called a "moment of weakness" or some other bullshit, but after encountering a man with too much to drink and what seemed like too many hands, she'd been rather turned off and just went upstairs for some rather invigorating sex with an incubus.
That had been a while ago now though, and with the door closing sooner than she would have liked, she'd started to bring a few things back through. Not much, just some familiar food, things for her apartment that were easier to find in Atlanta than dig through the mall for. She still didn't like going back to the mall, if she could avoid it. She was currently walking through the park, taking a shortcut to get to her apartment, with a bag from Trader Joe's (of all the places, that wasn't the one she'd expected to miss but damn if they didn't make good microwave food) when she saw Dan sitting in the grass.
"You say again like we can leave." she commented, still a few yards away.
