Who: Anyone at the camp-out
What: Camp-out!
Where: Park on Wheel 3
When: Saturday Night/Sunday Morning
Open/Multiple Treads

Starting around 3 in the afternoon, Darcy and some of the others would have taken over a large area of the park on Wheel 3, right near the kids' section, setting up and getting ready for the camp-out.

Neville would have put up a large, magical tent that looked pretty unassuming on the outside but once inside, there are lots of different rooms, a fireplace, full kitchen and lots of tables and couches in the main living area.

Picnic tables have been gathered up and there are games strewn over one of them. Some board games, playing cards, other card games, and some others like jenga and twister. A little bit of everything for anyone who might be interested. On another table there is a large stack of flashlights and some glow sticks. And a final one is strewn with food, lots of snacks, junk food, and things that can be stuck on sticks and put over the fire.

There would also be a large fire pit set up, with lots of stools, stumps and benches set up around it, along with a playpen close-but-not-too-close-by.

Once everything is set up and ready, Darcy would have pulled plenty of cook-out food from a cooler and, with Bruce's help, made dinner for everyone who helped set up.

By the time everyone else started to get there, Dan would have built up an impressive bonfire for everyone to gather around.

Dan gave Bill a wave as he arrived at the campsite, and Bill grinned and waved back. Then he went over to the big tent, dropped his bag off at the entrance as he toed his sneakers off and went in to look around. Darcy had said it would be a magic tent, but he hadn't quite expected this.

"Wow," he said softly to himself, checking out all of the rooms he found. He'd brought his own tent with him, but now he was thinking that he'd rather stay in the big tent. It was magic! Who wouldn't?! He went back outside, slipping his sneakers back on (he would have gone barefoot, but he didn't want to track dirt into any of the tents, so he kept his shoes on) and went to explore everything else that had been set up.

Dan had spent most of the morning moving his various piles of wood and things that were safe to burn up to be near the campsite, and if older Jake hadn't shown up at one point, he reckoned he'd hurt a hell of a lot more than he currently did. As it was, the Force did most of the heavy lifting, and Dan and Jake got to have a good walk and talk over coffee.

He'd started building the bonfire once Nev's tent was up and the layout of the campsite was sorted, and then he'd helped move all the picnic tables and set everything up. Dan being Dan, he'd sung to himself almost the whole time unless people were talking to him. The dinner had been delicious, and then he'd finished the bonfire.

Now he was content to sit and nurse the bonfire, and nurse his shoulder a little as well. It wasn't bad, nothing like earlier in the year. It was just the ache that came from doing a lot of physical work and nothing more. He'd get coffee in a while and consider it a good day's work.

Steve sat at the picnic table that had all the games, playing jenga with himself. Thankfully, his own clothes had shown up soon after he'd moved into Hopper's spare room, so he didn't have to wear his Scoops Ahoy uniform all the damn time, and his bruising was almost all faded away by now.

He'd introduced himself to everyone when he'd shown up to help, done his fair share of heavy lifting and now he was just waiting for people to arrive.

Abra made sure Eli was safe and happy while she played with the other children.  A few telepathic messages were sent between herself and her little sister to be absolutely certain. She then picked up a bottle of pop for herself and made her way to the picnic tables.   "Hey there."   She said when she noticed Steve.   "You're lookin' a lot better."

Steve looked up at the familiar voice, and grinned up at Adele. "Well, hey there yourself. And thank you very much. I'm feeling a lot better too," he said, getting to his feet and resting his hands on his hips as he spoke.

His hair was fine, of course.

"How're you? Are you helping out or babysitting, or...?" he asked, before remembering what he was in charge of. "Or would you like to pick a game to play?"

"That's good to hear."  Adele smiled and then gave a little chuckle.  "I'm sort of helping out.  I brought food."  That should count.  "I'm mainly here to stay close to my little sister."   She nodded her head towards the children playing.   "See the little energetic blonde girl?   That's Eli."

Adele glanced down at the games.  "I'll play a game if you join me."  Jenga might be tricky though.  That was the kind of game her Sully cousins would like, figuring out just the right move.  She preferred to be active.  "Do you like bucketball?"

Hopper hadn't expected to enjoy himself. He'd come because the Steve kid had somehow convinced him, and because it forced him to take a shower and change out of his sweatpants, but what he hadn't expected was the reason he was having such a bad time.

He was sat on the outskirts of the fire, beer in one hand, watching. The camp-out was in full swing. Kids were playing some sort of flashlight game off to the open space on one side, others were gathered around a table playing a card game that was louder than any card game he remembered, and others were around the fire making s'mores and roasting (read: setting on fire) anything that they could get to stay on a stick. Parents and guardians and babysitters were interspersed throughout, watching but not keeping too much control.

El would have loved it.

And he would have loved to see her there, even if she probably would have come with Mike. He didn't know what had happened back in Hawkins. If closing the portal had worked, if anything had changed. If El was safe. And even if she were, who was watching her now. He would have hoped it was Joyce but he could never know, if the state tried to step in they may have taken her...

He tipped the rest of his beer back to try and clear his thoughts (it didn't work) and reached for the bag of some sort of crunchy cheesy something he had between his legs. He was already itching to leave.
