Bryn was sitting at her desk fingers templed in front of her. She had Luis and his friend locked up. The choice was to let them rot in a led coffin. Or to let them meet the sun. There was beheading. As that thought came to mind her eyebrow raised, giving away her thoughts to anyone who knew her, and knew what was going on. And the little antebellum ghost, appeared. One of a very few that could get in and out of her office, that were native to this world, without setting off a lot of alarms and bringing hell and high water with them. Scarlet. That wasn't her real name, she still didn't remember that. But she didn't go poking around to try to either. She announced herself with a muttered. "Uh oh. Someone's in trouble." Because the vampire and the young looking specter knew each other far too well. Bryn jumped, and yelped softly. Her head practically spinning to find the source of the voice. And before Scarlet could blink she was being wrapped up in a hug that would have choked out anyone living. She giggled softly. "Something tells me that you aren't the Bryn that is supposed to be with the crew." Because the vampire wasn't that affectionate. She felt something and gasped. Setting the younger woman down on her feet as gently as if she had been made of glass. Which earned her another giggle. And the look on Bryn's face was priceless. No. She didn't know what was going on exactly, but they weren't one in the same. Not right then. She didn't know. "How?" That one word had so much Norse in it it left Scarlet with more questions and no answers. "It was a wedding present from Nero. Not many people have ever stood up to him, you know? He... did what he could for me and Blank." That southern drawl was like music, as she caressed the slight bump. They didn't know what it would be. How it would turn out, but she was taking it one step at a time. "The gestation period is a lot longer than it would be if I was living. We don't know how long. We'll only know that when they come." |
