It had been a curious experience to see her aunt's world. The club was wild, it reminded her of the establishments she had sought out when she was young and full of insecurities. She had drunk and danced the night away whenever the portals had allowed it - the clubs on the island could just not beat anything in a real city.
Those times were over now. Her friends had changed and so had the rest of her life. But there was something sentimental about it. She could see Lucy dancing on the dance floor and Laura trying to get boys to buy her free drinks. It was a bittersweet image. Before she could drift off into moments that would never happen again, she spotted a familiar face at the bar.
"Hey," she said as slipped into the spot next to him. It was still early enough for the club not to be packed with people. Early enough to have to still have a conversation without screaming across the hall. "Having a good time?"
