Who: Kai & John
When: Sunday morning
Where: Underwater living-quarters
What: Meeting
Status: Ongoing

Kai had been swimming all day. Or had it been two already? He wasn't quite sure. The god lost track of time whenever sunlight was not his companion and sometimes even when it was. This was no ocean where you could simply got lost - where you could swim for months and never reach a shore. It was still a prison. A dead world to the god of the sea. It was almost poetic that he was also the custodian of the underworld. Now both had merged.

He was on the verge of one of the releases. A huge glass wall separated the waterbound from the land-dwellers. On one side a room with water, on the other one filled with air. The glassfront was interrupted with individual chambers. All made out of glass. Most were just about the size of a human. One one the far right corner was vastly larger though. Each chamber opened up to both the water and the air-filled world. They acted as locks. You stepped into it and depending where you came from, it would fill with water or release it from the chamber before the gate to the other side opened.

Both areas behind the chambers looked modern and technical. The design was simple like the rest of the spaceship; sleek white tiles with metal highlights. Consoles were set next to the chambers and advertisment panels on the walls informed the visitors of the attractions they should not miss out on: the new underwater restaurant was about to open and it would be an unbelievable experience. Of course, this would have happened 50 years ago. Of course, he had only been able to read it with the app one of the islanders had provided them with.

There was only one door on door on each side. Both doors led to the reception and rental area of the complex. This was where the suits could be rented. Suits in all sizes and shapes that would enable the landdwellers to swim and the waterbound to walk on land. Kai needed neither. He just swam in nothing more than shorts, lost to the world and the rest of the station.

The god was contemplating whether he should leave. Go home and keep his wife company for a while when the door opened and the face of a stranger appeared on the other side of the glass.
