Who: Bill and Zu Where: Tz'tena, in a market When: Friday daytime What: Exploring! Open: Nope
Bill stared all round him, mouth slightly open as he did so. He could almost hear his mom not-so-subtly trying to get him to stop - "Are you catching flies, Billy?" she'd say, but there would be no humor in it, not any more - but he thought she would have much the same reaction as he was currently having, if she could see what he was looking at. Or she would have, before Georgie's death. Still, Bill was here to enjoy himself, and not mope over his little brother. Zu had brought him here to get his mind off of the stupid stuff the station had been doing, and he was going to have fun. So he stared at the market on Tz'tena she'd brought him to, and tried not to be so obvious about it. He was clearly failing, but he didn't much care.
The market was a crazy mix of Alien everything (sounds, colors, people, smells, food stalls, odd trinkets and machines, vehicles and animals and so so much more) and weirdly familiar things. He'd seen some things before on the station, damaged versions of things that were for sale here. Kat had taken all kinds of photographs on the different planets she went to, and he liked looking through those sometimes to try and get inspiration for stories and drawings, and he could see some landmarks he thought he recognized from those. And the people, oh wow. So many different beings. He'd read a hell of a lot of sci-fi novels, Isaac Asimov and Robert Heinlein, Ursula Le Guin and Ray Bradbury, Jules Verne and H.G. Wells... and nothing was like this. Nothing at all. His gaping turned into a grin as he took it all in and he began to work out what he was looking at.
He even took his phone out of his back pocket and started to take pictures of things and sending them back for Kat and Loki and everyone in their chat group to look at. Everyone saw the same thing slightly differently, after all. Zu was going to see everything twice (in person and through Bill's photos) but he didn't think she'd mind.
