Who: Dan and Brenna Where: One of the parks When: Lunchtime What: Trying more things out. Open: No
Dan lay on a blanket beside Brenna, looking up at the stars through the park's roof. They'd spent the morning checking up on a couple of the animals, like older Jake's griffin and some actual normal non-mythological animals as well, including Brenna's favorite. The Ibex that always shoved at her, obviously, since she seemed to like the contrary ones. He was deliberately not thinking about what that meant about himself.
He still looked like Loki, despite having worked out how to change his appearance. He wasn't sure which would disturb Brenna more - him obviously using "god powers" to look like Dan Torrance rather than Loki, or looking like one of her gods in the first place. Since she didn't know any different just yet, he decided to stay looking like Loki since she knew he couldn't go back into his own body and it hopefully wouldn't bother her too much.
It had been a mostly quiet trip, since Dan hadn't worked out how to talk with Brenna while she was in Maria's body other than texting her constantly or very very basic hand gestures, although he couldn't help but sing while he was working. Not that Brenna was aware, he supposed, unless she was watching him. Still, now that they were having their lunch, he could focus properly on her. He reached over for his battered duffel bag, and brought out some of the chocolate he'd found in his Easter basket thing. He'd kept the important part, the photograph of him and his mom on the beach when he was about 16 or so, the pair of them grinning at the camera while Dick took the photo. Dick had come to visit for the weekend and taken them out for a meal and then a brief walk along the beach. It had been a good day, he could remember it clearly and that meant he'd actually been sober when the photo was taken, too. He'd given Abra half the chocolate, and the other half was in the bag for Brenna. Jack had his own chocolate, he didn't need any more.
He sat up a bit, then reached over and put his hand on Brenna's arm. When she looked round, he offered her the foil-wrapped chocolate egg with a little smile.
