On Darcy's doorstep

[In the basket was loads (about 20 or so, but she lost count) of little single serving jars of different home made soups. Each with carefully written instructions on the side of each. A few loaves freshly baked bread wrapped in muslin. Along with a block of cheese wrapped in cheese cloth. The letter is sealed with a seal like his necklace, in red wax.]

Dearest Darcy,

My heart aches for you, and your loss. I wouldn't wish that ache on my worst enemy, and most definitely not my dearest friend. Should you need anything, anything at all, feel free to call on me, message me or ring me on the phone. I shall free my time at your whim.

The jars I sent will easily freeze until you have want to use them, I hope they all fit in your freezer, if not those that wont will keep in the refrigerator for at least a week. The bread I made at Robin's request, because that was what it would take to keep him from your doorstep for at least a few days. He doesn't understand a mourning period, and I pray he will never have to. But those will also keep better in the freezer while you use the first. He says to tell you the cheese sandwich is easy, just place butter on each side of the sliced bread, put a slice of cheese in between and put it in a flat pan until the outside of pieces of bread are toasted as dark as you like, and the cheese is melty. He says a man can't live off of soups and stews alone.

We are at your beck and call my friend.

Marian and Robin
