Jack's request knocked the anger out of him, and Dan just blinked a couple of times as he processed it. "uh... Yeah, sure. But I'm going to need painkillers before I can sleep again. Strong ones," he said, holding his sore arm against his chest again.
While they were standing there, he carefully let himself feel for Abra's sleeping thoughts. She hadn't been in his dream, so he was fairly certain she hadn't been sent back, but he just needed to reassure himself. Opening the door to check on her would only waken her, so he did the next best thing. His eyes unfocused for a brief moment as he bent down to lift his blanket and when he stood up, he felt a little bit better. His dad and Abra were still there. He'd check with Bryn and Brenna in the morning.
