Darcy took his time to have a cool shower. He remembered what Lyla had said about ice, and while the shower was by no means cold, he decided that a hot one wasn't going to help. So he kept it cool, and let the stream of water gently massage at his back. It definitely wasn't a good sign that even the water hitting his skin was enough to cause an ache. It was fine. The medication would kick in eventually.
He roughly towel-dried, pulled on a dressing gown that was hanging up in the bathroom, and went through to the bedroom just like that to find something to wear to this Sully gathering. He would keep his painkillers topped up, alternate between sitting and moving, and he would be fine.
