Re: Sarah and Mr. Darcy
"I dislocated vertebrae when I fell from my horse a few months ago. I have not seen a doctor today, but Lyla told us that I'd aggravated that particular injury again," he explained. He did just catch the blush, and tried to suppress a smile as he thought back over exactly what he had said and how it might have been interpreted.
Darcy nodded a little as she spoke, just to show that he was listening even if a lot of what she was saying was going over his head. He blinked a couple of times, processing it all before he properly responded. "Yes, you can use it, of course," he told her after a moment. "Only... while I do not wish to be in pain, I wonder if it doesn't have something of a purpose. The pain tells me when to stop and rest. If I remove the symptoms without allowing time for the underlying problem to heal properly, do I not risk over-exerting myself and worsening the long-term damage because I do not feel the warning?" he questioned.
"Ah. Well, yes, that is certainly one to avoid..." he started to say, and then she was off on another story that seemed particular complicated and raised a lot more questions than it answered. His brow was furrowed with a little confusion, but the main question was quickly answered, and he nodded in understanding. "I did not, although I am aware of your twin's magic, and your nephew's telepathy, so it is not such a shocking revelation."
