Younger Jake and ???
Jake had been baking. He'd been glad of the party, for all manner of reasons, but the fact that he got to do baking for an actual reason rather than just "I'm making a cake now" was pretty great (not that there was anything wrong with that reason). Sookie had taught him well, and even after all this time, he still remembered her lessons. And so Jake had made three different types of cookies, some more pies (sweet and savory) and a cake. And he'd cooked a ham and glazed it with marmalade and whiskey.
He'd gone on ahead of Sunila and the boys, the food all floating along behind him as he limped along with the help of his walking sticks. His legs were so much better now, and he didn't always need both sticks, but he was wary of the snow and the cold wasn't helping his back at all.
Soon enough, he was at Sookie's, so he let himself in by nudging the door open with a stick, and then let the food go in first. He had no idea where to put it all, so he set everything on the table, and then just stood where he was and let his legs get a bit of a rest.
