“Very well. I suppose that seems like a reasonable precaution to take,” Darcy agreed. He really had enjoyed the activity before his back had given him problems, and he was glad that Miguel didn’t just want to put a blanket ban on it now. If it meant they could do that kind of thing again in the future, he certainly didn’t mind Lyla keeping an eye on him.
He wasn’t sure that he’d ever stop being surprised by Miguel’s capabilities. His eyes followed his friend as he leapt up to the ceiling with a sort of wide-eyed awe that was hard to disguise. He was still thinking about the webbing when he asked his question, so perhaps his usual guard was down just a little.
“Ashley not being pregnant,” he said, and once it was out there he realised it sounded a bit strange. Especially for someone who had only been married very recently. “She was very upset about it a number of months ago.
