Miguel had stood there in the doorway for the last few minutes of Darcy's workout, watching his friend in silence as he tried to murder a fake man. He'd come down to the gym in case Shep was there, so they could beat each other up, but instead he'd found Darcy. And now he was a bit worried for his friend - he didn't think he'd ever seen him quite so annoyed.
He knew from experience that fighting real people was much more cathartic than fighting against fake ones, but he didn't want to startle Darcy or make him think he'd been spied on, so he silently jumped up onto the corridor's ceiling, worked his way back about twenty meters or so and then dropped down onto the floor again. "Lyla, start talking to me about the last batch of samples we ran," he said as he walked towards the door again.
"Of course, Miguel. We ran three hundred and twelve samples through a complete analysis yesterday, and I am currently compiling all the data into a report for you to read, which is at 48% completion. As it stands, the samples from sector L-26 are as you expected them to be," she said, manifesting beside Miguel's watch as usual. She continued talking as Miguel walked into the gym until he asked her to please pause for a moment.
"Hey, Darcy. Sorry, I didn't know this was being used."
