Bertie gave him a little nod, and he was surprised to find that he actually believed him. Apparently he had gone from thinking he was kidnapped to just blindly trusting the first American that came his way. There was something inherently trustworthy about the man though, in his manner of speaking or... he wasn't sure what it was exactly.
"I-I-I'm sure... I c-could... g-guess the answer-- but is there any-any-- ah-way to contact... home? Just to... to say -- I am... safe?" He couldn't imagine how his family were taking this. He didn't even dare think about the rest of the country. It didn't exactly look good given the day's events.
He followed him through the food court, trying his best to take in what he was being told. It was all very shiny and new looking to him. Very high tech. Very space-y.
