"Yeah..." he sighed a little. It never felt easy to think - not when it was about real emotions and real relationships. His brain was apparently eternally incapable of thinking straight when it came to relationships. It had always been the same. He wasn't even sure how much information he wanted to give little Charlie Barton. Or how much he would want to hear.
There was a long pause, and he almost spoke a couple of times but stopped himself.
"I really loved your mom. You do know that, don't you?" he said eventually.
