Bonnie wasn't all too sure about this date. She'd agreed, but it didn't mean she fully felt a hundred percent positive about her decision. Jeremy broke her heart when he chose his ghost ex-girlfriend over his real, flesh and blood one. Truthfully, Bonnie wasn't sure she'd ever be able to trust him again. Despite it all, the witch still maintained a soft spot for the youngest Gilbert and she would still do anything and everything within her power to keep the other teenager alive. It was her endless compassion that made her an easy target for Klaus to use and abuse. She knew all too well he could kill the ones she loved and Bonnie just didn't want to lose anyone else. Jeremy was a weakness that even such pain as he had caused her would not ever change.
A knock at the door pulled Bonnie from her pondering and she took a deep breath. This was it. No turning back and she had to remember that it was only coffee or something. Besides, hadn't she been telling Stefan earlier to take a chance with Caroline? This was her following her own advice despite her aprehensions about the entire matter. Her and Jeremy had formed a connection again at the Gilbert cabin, a connection that proved that perhaps all they felt for each other was not totally dead and gone. She'd been able to make it possible for him to hug Elena, to be around his sister again without putting a stake into her heart. It was huge and how could she not take that as a sign. A sign that maybe there could be something there again or maybe she was just kidding herself all over again. Bonnie Bennett didn't fall in love; love was out of reach and unattainable.
Taking hold of the doorknob, she took another deep breath and pulled the door open. Sure enough, it was Jeremy on the the other side, but the skinny, overly slender kid brother of her best friend was no longer even close to such a description. Jeremy was taller, stronger, and more built with muscle Bonnie had never thought possible. It was impossible to not notice the change and being a woman, approve whole hardly of it. Still, the bulk up had happened quickly after he was awakened as a hunter to save his sister's sanity and her life. Part of her was worried, Jeremy was stronger than he'd ever been and it worried her to think that she might be the only thing standing between his sister and the end of a stake her brother wielded.
The all too classic, askew grin formed on Bonnie's face. "Hey, Jer," she greeted quietly.
