“True enough,” Darcy smirked, handing over a coffee to Bobby as well. Of course Bingley had no clue what they were talking about, but he was too busy agonising over Jane to care.
“You do. You are in love, aren’t you?” Darcy questioned his friend, before joining them with his own coffee.
“Well, yes, but... you... what happened to it being a... inferior match or...” Bingley was grappling for what Darcy has said about it before. He’d been so damned convincing. Darcy gave him a dismissive wave, feeling himself blush a little as he was reminded of his own poorly thought out remarks.
“Maybe I’ve had a change of heart. Truthfully, I think I was projecting some of my own insecurities onto you, and I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have meddled, I was being foolish,” he admitted, and Bingley looked at him with wide eyes, finding it such an incredible thing to hear Darcy admit to.
