So engrossed in the activity she had used to keep herself from shutting down that she had missed the signs that he'd even walked into the apartment. This had been the first real moment that she had taken, stolen really, since he and Loki (and Cap) had entered Nepal. It felt like the weight of a century or two rather than that of a week. She hadn't realized how much she had grown to depend on the god until he wasn't available.
And until he was now holding her. Her arms had gone around him immediately. But it took a good long moment for her body to relax into his firm hold. In that relaxation, though, came the loss of the firm hold she'd had on her emotions. She began to sob in his great muscles. The sound was quiet, but the jerking of the muscles in her shoulders were undeniable.
Bryn tightened her hold on him and just let go of it all. Such weight she had bore alone before. Wept alone when it became too much. Now she was not alone.
