Shepard was trying to keep positive. The island wouldn't have brought him there just to kill him. Just for him to die. She didn't care that technically they weren't on the island anymore, essentially it was the same damn place. And she had to believe that Rawdon wouldn't die.
She had took off the minute Rachel had said she was on the way. To go. And she'd ran fast enough that she'd got to medbay just as Stevie was leaving. And sure he looked real confused when she squeezed his arm in thanks, but that didn't matter. She'd remained at the door as Henry plugged him up to a heart monitor, and other required medical devices. She had given privacy when he'd been cathed.
He looked so yellow. And talk of an island, well Shepard wasn't stupid. She knew what this was. She kept a cloth in ice nearby. And cycled between keeping his feet warm and mopping his brow with the cold cloth. Because she couldn't just stand there and do nothing.
She was currently rubbing his feet when he spoke. She jerked her head up. "Hey. You've got an iv with fluids and other random monitors stuck to you, so don't pull at anything. It all needs to be there I promise."
