Everything that Dan said was absolutely genius, and Rawdon was soaking up every little bit of information. His brain was full of little compartments, and he could store all of the information away somewhere, he was sure of it. Then he'd use it against them all in the card game. They'd never see that coming! Never!
He laughed at nothing but his own thoughts, and no one seemed to think it odd. Eventually, they pulled up outside a row of unassuming little shops, all but one were closed up for the night. 'Bloom's Drug Store' was lit up like a beacon. Rawdon didn't even know what a drug store was.
"What's a drug store?" he asked the men in the car. Goldberg or stein or whatever laughed. "Exactly," he said, as if that was a normal answer. Rawdon gave Dan a quizzical look, but he didn't hesitate in following the mystery man as he stepped out of the cab.
