"One for the road," he repeated, and followed suit, downing his own glass of very expensive, very lovely whiskey. And then he reached out with his free hand to catch Rawdon's arm by the wrist, so that he could clink the empty glasses together. If Rawdon couldn't move his arm, and therefore the glass, then Dan would not miss.
The glasses successfully clinked together! Dan laughed to himself and then looked round to see if there was any more coke so he could get some of it for the road as well.
