Dan lit up as soon as Jack said he could. He had to use both hands to keep his lighter steady enough for it to actually catch, but he had it soon enough and then the smoke started helping him to relax and to even warm him up a little. He nodded once when Jack offered him the tablet, and made his way unsteadily over to take it from him.
"How the hell does this work?" he muttered, completely unused to touch-screens, then looked back up at his dad. "I'll read them when I don't have a bad head," he said, then blew a cloud of smoke out through his nostrils. "Can... I sit out with you? While you're writing."
