Darcy nodded in confirmation about the thermometer. He was sure that he was white as a ghost with worry, but he really didn't want to let it show too much. He didn't want her to worry as well, so he would try his very best to remain as calm as she had done for him.
He went through to the kitchen and found the thermometer stored in a drawer there. He didn't want to wait for water to boil before going back to check her temperature, so for now he just got her a glass of water.
Water. A sudden image flashed into his mind of her drinking the water in Sydney. No. No, it wouldn't be that. She had been certain it was safe.
He took it through to her, giving her the glass of water. He'd been mostly delirious when she'd used the thermometer, but he did remember that she had pressed it to his forehead.
